History:
Founded in May of 2001 by Alexandra
Ferdinand, EnMotion began with seven dancers. The company now counts
more than thirty adult and teen dancers in the Junior Company (13-18)
and Adult (19+) Company. Both companies have performed at various
venues in Massachusetts and as far as New York. EnMotion also offers
courses for recreational dancers. EnMotion is proud to add color
guard to its arts programs and will soon provide training in other
art forms. EnMotion has been honored to perform at events that support
cancer research, AIDS awareness, youth drug prevention, and more.
In addition to supporting community causes, EnMotion has collaborated
with local artists and musicians in the celebration of both music
and performing arts.
Mission: To reach
train, and inspire a wide range of performers and performance audiences.
EnMotion is a performing arts organization
that exists to develop the talent of experienced and novice performers.
We have programs in hip-hop dance, color guard, and will soon expand
to offer programs in other performing and visual arts.
EnMotion seeks to train students
of all backgrounds for professional careers in the performing arts.
EnMotion believes that access
to professional performing arts training should have no class boundaries.
Our commitment to providing performing arts instruction in the inner
city insures that the next generation of performers and people represent
all of America. Towards that goal, dancers in pre-professional programs
undergo rigorous training that instills discipline, self-esteem,
and teaches members how to work as a team. In addition to physical
training our dancers are mentored and are given the opportunity
to take classes from professional dancers and individuals from the
art industry who can inspire them toward their personal best.
The success of EnMotion depends
on the efforts of each performer. With that in mind, we encourage
all our performers and participants to contribute their skill as
part of their professional development. As company members become
more skilled, they are invited to choreograph, design costumes,
or to offer other expertise. We believe that as our performers grow
professionally, so does EnMotion.
EnMotion seeks to inspire in others a personal appreciation
and enjoyment of performance art.
Professional or not, EnMotion believes everyone should have the
opportunity to experience the joy of the performing arts. In addition
to training professional and pre-professional dancers, the company
also offers classes for the recreational dancer. The Training Program
gives individuals of all ages and skill levels the opportunity to
discover the joy of dancing. In addition to offering dance classes,
our participation in community events and in professional shows
and competitions allows EnMotion to bring its empowering and inspirational
performances to diverse causes and communities. In these ways, we
hope to share with others the exhilaration we experience on stage.
What people are saying
about EnMotion:
"EnMotion is an amazing talented
group of young individuals who strive to bring awesome entertainment
to their audiences. They are easy to work with to coordinate any
event including fundraisers and community events. I hired them for
a fundraiser for the American Stroke Association. They were very
organized, prompt and gave a very outstanding performance. Everyone
was talking about them for the rest of the night. I highly recommend
EnMotion for any event! They are a unique and artistic group of
performers.
